What is Seed Priming?
Seed priming uses the principle of imbibition whereby nutrients from true solutions (not suspensions) are taken up by the seed. Simply put, the nutrients are carried into the seed as opposed to suspensions that only cover the seed coat. Once nutrients are inside the seed, the embryo readily utilises the nutrients during germination.
